Summary of Experience

I am an intern/scholar at the Rhode Island Department of Health, Center for EMS, EMS for Children Program. There, I assist my supervisor in exploring pediatric skills competency of EMS providers in the State of Rhode Island by conducting interviews and follow-ups with EMS agencies. I continue to participate in the program planning process and attend weekly team meetings so that I could be informed on the daily tasks of the Center for EMS.

I am continuing to learn so much in terms of following up with EMS agencies, assuring that they have a pediatric champion and skills competency necessary for pediatric calls. Everyday, I am growing towards my goal, becoming better at my communication skills through electronic means.

My most significant accomplishment so far is the amount of survey responses I have received from the EMS agencies. I was able to reach my project goal which was not easy, but very worthy. My supervisor has been very proud.

This internship continues to influence my future goals, as one day I would like to work with people and be a tremendous help.
